Does revealed comparative advantage matter in the gravity of FTAs?

Purpose This study attempts to recognize the effects of Pakistan–China free trade agreements (PCFTA) on promoting between two economies. Design/methodology/approach Following concept revealed comparative advantage (RCA) and agreements, first identifies those commodities in which Pakistan China have a robust RCA then analyze effect PCFTA export value for bilateral China. The used panel data more than top 150 importers (j) been selected each case period 2003–2015. Findings concludes that even with higher convergence rate, good does not guarantee positive agreement commodities. Originality/value contributes existing literature by integrating gravity model adopting sequential mode agreement.
